FINDING THE RIGHT MAXIMUM MAMA’S SIZING
How to purchase the correct size in maternity clothing
The problem most women have when choosing maternity clothing for the first time; is through all the old wives tales out there.
OLD WIVES TALES
We all heard them – You must wear light bright happy colors, You will gain weight everywhere, don’t show how pregnant you are - cover it up, just wear your husband’s sweat pant, and my personal favorite don’t buy maternity just purchase larger sizes.
Have you ever seen a woman wearing a garment which clearly the wrong size…now add being pregnant to that visual. Maternity clothing can allow a Mom-to-be not just style but comfort and support.
The reality is that it isn’t necessary to go up an entire size; your middle is increasing to accommodate your baby. Your shoulders and arms did not grow in length and width overnight.
What is true of your non-maternity clothing is still true – fit is important. Your clothing should fit properly during your entire pregnancy also accommodating and cradling the belly
THE FIRST QUESTION TO ASK
The first question to ask when choosing Maximum Mama Maternity is “What size did you wear before becoming pregnant”? Use our size chart below to match your pre-pregnancy size to your Maximum Mama size.
Yes, I know the size is a bit different but anything that we could do to put a smile on your face is worth it.

I AM TYPICALLY THE SAME SIZE ALL OVER
Are you proportional? Meaning is your bust-line and/or hip basically proportional to your body. If yes, then match your size to our chart above.
I USUALLY HAVE A PROBLEM FINDING THE RIGHT FIT…
Before you became pregnant; “what was your biggest challenge when buying clothing? Was it your bust-line or hip?
Remember the size of your tops and bottoms may vary and this is OK. Still match our chart to what you typically purchased before you became pregnant for either your pants or tops.
I AM HAVING A MULITIPLY PREGNANCY …
When having a multiply pregnancy; find your pre-pregnancy size and use this as a starting point to move up in size to accommodate the difference in the belly size.
Because of the uncertainty of the size of the belly from mama to mama; many Moms actually purchase through the pregnancy increasing sizes as needed. |
